The Manufacturing Engineer will design manufacturing production processes with efficiency and safety in mind considering the 7 wastes of Lean Manufacturing. A modern manufacturing team ensures the product achieves compliance with Design For Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) guidelines. This can only be achieved by working concurrently with the Design Engineering team at the early stages of a project during development.

The core responsibilities could cover:


  • Defining process strategy for product manufacturing
  • Planning, developing and implementation of all written processes for manufacturing
  • Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing
  • Defining process capability of processes and equipment identifying where significant and critical characteristics of specific areas of the design must be monitored
  • Working with the plant team to monitor process adherence and assist in defining control plans for any non conformance
  • Quality planning
  • Support physical builds operating a continuous improvement mindset to update processes to improve efficiency and quality

Experience/Skills required


  • Experience of working with Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
  • Experience of equipment and plant installation
  • Previously dealt with revenue and CAPEX justification
  • Useful to have worked with Lean Principles and have implemented some of the practises to a manufacturing facility i.e waste reduction, process analysis, flow, balancing and optimisation
  • Be qualified to degree level in an Engineering discipline ideally Manufacturing or have equivalent qualification and or experience in a relevant field
