Client: International Manufacturing Group

Project Type: Strategic Water Risk and Resilience Planning

Timeline: To 2040

Challenge

The client operates multiple production sites located in water-stressed and climatically vulnerable regions. In anticipation of tightening environmental standards, climate impacts, and operational risks, they sought to:

Understand the future risks to water availability and pricing

        Evaluate site-specific vulnerabilities

Develop a long-term water resilience and sustainability roadmap

Align with environmental targets, including hydrogen transition goals

        Our Approach

        1. Multidisciplinary Team Deployment

Assembled a team of climate scientists, hydrogeologists, filtration engineers, and infrastructure strategists. Our consultants led the strategic and operational delivery interface.

        1. Site-Specific Water Audits

Conducted in-depth assessments at each factory to understand:

        • Water sourcing (municipal, well, tanker)
        • Usage patterns (production, hygiene, utilities)
        • Forecasted demand to 2025 and 2040
        • Risk ratings based on local water infrastructure, climate models, and geopolitical pressures
        1. Integration of Climate Science

Used data from the IPCC and regional projections to model:

        • Increased evapotranspiration
        • Decreasing soil moisture
        • Regional precipitation variability
        • Climate-driven infrastructure threats (e.g. monsoon shifts, deforestation)
        1. Wastewater and Recycling Review

Evaluated existing reuse and recycling technologies, including:

        • Grey water systems
        • On-site treatment capacity
        • Plastic and nano-plastic disposal
        • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
        1. Strategic Infrastructure Planning

        Assessed land availability for:

        • Future on-site water treatment plants
        • Buffer storage systems for climate resilience
        • Integration with hydrogen production and green energy transition

        Outcomes

        • 2040 Strategic Water Plan delivered, balancing operational, environmental, and regulatory priorities.
        • Provided a tiered investment roadmap for risk mitigation and infrastructure upgrades.
        • Supported client’s transition to hydrogen-powered processes with water system integration.
        • Delivered actionable insights for cross-functional teams: production, sustainability, finance, and risk management

This project exemplifies EES Solutions’ capability to blend technical water management, deep climate insight, and strategic delivery, empowering manufacturers to thrive under growing environmental pressure.
